National Association of Senior Move Managers

This organization is the ONLY professional association in North America that deals specifically with later living and transition issues for the 55+ population. Founded in 2002, NASMM works hard to increase industry awareness and create a national referral network of senior movers to help with the transition. Senior move managers are used by a variety of sources such as older adults, bank and trust officers, attorneys, Realtors, staging professionals, family members, geriatric care managers, social workers, physicians, and senior living communities.

By hiring a senior move manager; they take care of developing an overall plan, organizing and downsizing, customized floor plans, arranging profitable disposal of unwanted items, all contact with movers, shipments, packing and unpacking, setting up the new home, and all related services such as cleaning, waste removal, shopping, senior escort, and preparing of home sale.

Another great asset of senior move managers is they can also assist in helping seniors staying in their current home and assist in organization skills and “aging in place.”

Cost

It is difficult to calculate an estimate because it can greatly depend on services and location but NASMM members (Choice Transitions) will outline the cost of the job and give a written estimate before any payment is required. Some vary by hourly fees while others are all in one.
