Raleigh Real Estate Tips : Interior Design Trends for Fall 2013

With a new season, comes new design trends wherever you look. Whether it be the runway, makeup or home décor; they all shift with the seasons! Here are some home design trends that are popping up inside homes in Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary and Surrounding Wake County Towns.

Brass and Gold Fixtures

How many Raleigh homeowners replaced all shiny brass fixtures/hardware in your Triangle home? According to most online design publications, brass is making a big comeback. But not the shiny brass (you can breathe easy now). Antique brass is making a splash in bathroom and kitchen fixtures, light fixtures and home accessories. While Polished Nickel, Chrome and Satin Nickel are still Raleigh homeowner favorites, more and more people are mixing things up with a light fixture with brass trim or brass kitchen faucet. Not about to go back in time? Pair brass sculptures or animal décor on a bookshelf to add a subtle touch of this trend. Take the trend outside of your Triangle home with this brass, sailboat door knocker by Furbish Studio in downtown Raleigh.

Gray Paint

Gray might be the new beige! With so many wonderful gray paint options, you can go warm, cold and anywhere in between. It is a perfect neutral for those who are tired of beige. Beige is tried and true and particularly great for selling and staging your Wake County home, but gray (when done correctly) can have just as big an impact.

Mixed or Matching Metallics

Remember the Satin Nickel and brass aforementioned? Well, do not fear mixing these two metals. A good rule of thumb is to keep it at 3 metals max. Anything more than that will look like the discarded door knob pile at the local thrift store.

Pantone Color of the Year: Emerald Green

2013 is not over yet so bust out the Emerald Green pillows, throws and accessories. This hot color is popping up all over Triangle area homes.

Spice up your Triangle home or townhome with one of these fun design ideas!
