Would you like to do something truly special on National Giving Day – Tuesday, November 28th? We’d like to invite you to take the opportunity to donate blood at the Craft Residential/Craft Commercial 1st Annual Blood Drive. The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be parked in front of our office from 10 am to 2:30 pm that day and we are excited to host such an important, life-saving event.
About the NC Red Cross:
Serving 53 counties and more than 4.6 million people through five Red CrossChapters, the American Red Cross of Eastern North Carolina has served North Carolinians for 100 years. Thanks to the kindness of volunteers, donors, and partners, the Red Cross is able to fulfill its mission of alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies. Here’s a look at their footprint in Fiscal Year 2017:
Here’s why people choose to give. Your donation can potentially help save the lives of three people. Since 1917, the Eastern Carolina Chapter of the Red Cross has provided assistance to North Carolinians as well as national and international disaster support.
- Our Chapter provides 40% of the blood used to save lives in area hospitals.
- Every six hours in the Triangle the Red Cross responds to a home fire. More families lose their homes to fire each year than to hurricanes and tornados combined.
How does my donation help multiple people:
In modern medical treatments, patients may receive a pint of whole blood or just specific components of the blood needed to treat their particular condition. Up to four components can be derived from donated blood. This approach to treatment, referred to as blood component therapy, allows several patients to benefit from one pint of donated whole blood.
