Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks Around Raleigh & The Triangle

What once was only one or two locations for July 4th fireworks and family fun has exploded into major events in every part of Raleigh. Ranging from the quaint to the grandiose, we invite you to have some great times this Independence Day in and around the Capital City.

Let’s see what each area of the Triangle has planned for this wonderful 4th of July!

“The Works!” Provided by the City of Raleigh

Residents in the City of Raleigh are in for a spectacle! To be held on July 4th, “The Works!” at Red Hat Amphitheatre on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh is fantastic fun that runs from 12pm to 11pm. Admission is free. Fireworks will begin at 9:30pm with a day full of entertainment including musical performances, beer/wine tents, kids rides/games, street performers, eating contests, food, art vendors, and much more! Durham Bulls and Fireworks

Located at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on July 4th, the City of Durham is combining the Bulls’ game with the fireworks display for its residents. Tickets are required for the game but gates open for firework attendees after the 7th inning with no charge. Fireworks are set to begin after the game. A free “Jammin’ Jazz” 4th of July Concert at the American Tobacco Amphitheater featuring Mickey Mills and Steel will be held from 6pm – 9pm. Read more on what Durham has planned.

Chapel Hill Independence Day Entertainment

On July 4th, Chapel Hill area residents can head over to Kenan Memorial Stadium beginning at 7pm. Entertainment will include juggling, face painting, inflatable sports challenges, and music performed by Bull City Syndicate. Be sure to have some messy fun at the watermelon eating contest! Free glow necklaces will be given to the first 10,000 folks to enter the gates. Fireworks are set to begin at 9:30pm. See more details here of the Chapel Hill event.

Cary Celebrates with a Two-Day Event

Not to be outdone, the residents of the Town of Cary will be treated to a two day event! Day 1 will be at Cary Arts Center on July 3rd beginning at 6:30pm with performances by Applause! Cary Youth Theatre touring troupe and The Cary Town Band.

The fun will continue on July 4th with a full day of events. Day 2 begins with fishing tournaments at Fred G. Bond Metro Park at 7:30am and will be followed by a parade, family events, and even a canine talent contest! It all leads up to the 3pm celebration over at Koka Booth Amphitheater. Get ready for a loaded afternoon of entertainment including a performance by the North Carolina Symphony. Gates will open at 3pm and admission is free. Fireworks will begin after dark. The Eve of Independence In the Town of Garner

Garner area families can head over to Lake Benson Park on Thursday, July 3rd for their celebration and good times. There will be performances by the North Carolina Symphony and The Carolina Soul Band. Featured will also be a Kids Adventure Zone with inflatables, games, and crafts. Go Be “Free” in the Town of Clayton

To be held at Clayton Municipal Park on Stallings Street on Friday, July 4th, festivities for the Clayton residents will begin at 4pm with fireworks at approximately 9:15pm. Free ice cream. Free watermelon. Free kids’ games. Free concert by EastBound Band. Free Spray Down by the Clayton Fire Department. That’s a lot of “free”! There will also be food vendors and rides for kids as well as a raffle for $500 and many more prizes. See all the July 4th fun in Clayton.

Wake Forest’s Two Days of Music & Games

Located at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Stadium on July 3rd, gates will open at 5:30pm. Events for families include a stadium show by local Wake Forest music groups, The Band of Oz, and Don Carrington’s Parachutists. Fireworks will blast off shortly after dusk. But wait, there’s more!

On July 4th, the Children’s Parade will be on North Main Street beginning at 10:30am followed by Art & Games in the Park at 11am. More details on the Wake Forest fun can be found here.
