Wake Forest has just recently approved a grant application for new “spraygrounds.” This new idea will save the town millions. Unlike swimming pools, no lifeguards will need to be hired and there is never any major repairs that needs to be done. With a touch of a button spraygrounds will set off a series of water features, great for entertaining kids and a perfect way to stay cool during the hot months. The grant application will be submitted in January, the parks and recreation director Ruben Walls believes that the odds are in their favor. Stay tuned for more information on this unique low cost alternative to community swimming pools in Wake Forest.
The town is accepting tax deductible donations to help assist in the building of these spraygrounds. All checks should be made out to the Wake Forest Kiwanis Foundation- Sprayground Project.
